I tried a national tax relief company once and it honestly felt like I was just a number. They kept passing me from one rep to another. Eventually I gave up and went to a local tax attorney who actually solved the problem much faster.

I thought they promised too much. They said i could qualify for a big settlement but the IRS didn’t accept it. Still had to pay everything plus their fee.

One thing to watch for is upfront fees. My local firm charged a smaller flat fee compared to the thousands quoted by a national service. That sealed the deal for me.

To be fair the staff was patient and understanding when I was panicking. They explained things in plain English which helped a ton. The outcome wasn’t perfect but i felt supported.

I didn’t use them but my coworker did. She said they were polite and responsive but the final settlement wasn’t as low as she thought it would be. She was still glad she didn’t have to call the IRS herself.

I had a consultation with them and found them polite and professional. They explained all the programs in detail which gave me confidence. I ended up going with another company because of pricing but Priority definitely seemed legit and knowledgeable.

So in that sense they did what I needed. Still the price tag was painful and i probably could have gotten the same result with a tax attorney.
