I used a tax relief service about 3 years ago. They didn’t cut my debt by half like the commercials suggest but they did negotiate a lower monthly payment with the IRS. Honestly that made life a lot easier.

They came across as very pushy when I spoke with them. I didn’t like the sales tactics so i went with a local tax attorney instead.

With a local firm i was able to stop by their office and drop off documents instead of mailing or scanning everything. That made things way easier for me.

The consultation was free which i liked and they gave me a clear breakdown of options. I ended up going with them and don’t regret it. They kept my wages safe, which was my biggest fear.

I looked into Better Tax Relief and other companies too. From what I learned the services are pretty similar across the board. It really comes down to whether you want to pay someone to deal with the IRS for you.

My sister worked with them and said the biggest benefit was not feeling alone in the process. She was terrified of IRS letters and calls. Priority Tax Relief handled everything and explained things along the way. It did cost her a lot but it was worth the relief.

I signed up and backed out after the investigation stage. They wanted another $3,500 to move forward. By then i realized i could call the IRS myself and set up a plan for free. Glad I didn’t go further.
