When i spoke with one company they gave me a free consultation but didn’t pressure me to sign right away. They walked through my tax transcripts and showed me what was realistic. That felt way more professional than the others who just wanted a deposit before even looking at my paperwork.

One good thing about using a company is that they deal with the IRS directly so you don’t have to. If talking to the IRS makes you anxious then the cost might feel worth it just for that reason alone.

I didn’t like that they wouldn’t give me an exact fee until after the initial payment. Felt a little shady to me.

Local companies can sometimes have limited staff. Mine was great but also busy so updates took longer than i wanted. A bigger firm may have more dedicated teams.

They are definitely not a scam but they also aren’t miracle workers. If you go in with realistic expectations you might be okay. just be ready to pay quite a bit.

I was skeptical at first but they did help me get back on track. The payment plan is manageable and i am no longer worried about losing my paycheck. It’s not magic but it worked.

I used them for an old tax debt that had been hanging over me. They negotiated with the IRS and I ended up paying less than what I originally owed. It took almost a year though so patience is needed. In the end i was happy with the outcome.
