One thing i noticed is that the trustworthy companies don’t shy away from telling you that not everyone qualifies for major tax relief programs. They’ll walk through your income, expenses, and tax history before saying what’s possible. Anyone who promises huge savings right away is usually just trying to reel you in.

In my case the company helped me file back tax returns and that alone took away a lot of penalties. I still had to pay the IRS but at least i wasn’t drowning in late fees anymore. So it can be helpful just not magical.

They are very aggressive in advertising which made me skeptical. But when i finally called they were professional and explained things well.

I think the main difference is customer service. Bigger names may be efficient but smaller local ones will usually know you personally and make you feel like more than just a file number.

I personally didn’t use them but i got a quote and nearly fainted at the price. I think they’d be helpful if your case is super complicated but not for small tax issues.

They were upfront about the costs which i liked. I ended up paying quite a bit but they saved me from a levy on my bank account. Without them i don’t think i would have acted fast enough.

My coworker used them and said the customer support was responsive. Anytime she called with questions someone explained things clearly. The case took months to finish but she was happy with the end result.
