The companies that seem the most trustworthy are the ones that take the time to explain what options exist with the IRS. Whether it’s an installment plan an offer in compromise or penalty abatement they should walk you through the pros and cons. If all they do is scare you into signing a contract i would run.

I tried one of those services and honestly i felt like i paid for peace of mind more than actual results. They did handle the calls and letters which was a relief but my debt wasn’t reduced as much as I hoped. It’s worth weighing if the fees are justified.

I worked with them last year. They were responsive at first and did help stop the IRS letters but the fees added up quickly. I’d say it helped my stress more than my wallet.

I reached out to them last year. They were professional in communication but the fees were on the higher side. Results were decent though they stopped the IRS letters quickly.

They did take an upfront fee for the investigation but in my case they ended up negotiating an installment plan with the IRS that i could have done myself. It wasn’t a total scam but I felt like I paid for convenience more than results.
