FreeTaxUSA worked fine for me but i will admit the design is a little outdated. That said if you care more about functionality and saving money, it is legit. I filed got accepted and my refund hit my bank without delays. That is all i needed.

I have tried both TurboTax and FreeTaxUSA and honestly while TurboTax has a nicer design, FreeTaxUSA handled everything just as well for a fraction of the price. The refund i got matched exactly what TurboTax showed me so i did not feel like i was missing out on anything. After that experience i could not justify spending extra money on the bigger name.

At first i thought FreeTaxUSA was one of those “too cheap to trust” websites. But once i tried it i realized they have been around for years and are actually IRS-approved. I have used them twice now and both times my returns were filed successfully without errors.

My experience was smooth with FreeTaxUSA. I like that it gives you all the forms you need without charging for every little thing. It even reminded me of deductions i usually forget. For a budget friendly platform it felt just as reliable as others i have used.

I tried it out just to see if it was real and surprisingly it worked better than expected. My return went through without any glitches and i got my refund in the normal timeframe. For something that costs a fraction of the big names i would say it’s definitely legit.

I think FreeTaxUSA is legit but it depends on what you need. If you want step by step handholding or tax experts available 24/7 it might not be the best. But if you already understand the basics it’s accurate and very affordable.

Honestly FreeTaxUSA does not get enough credit. I used it while freelancing and it handled my 1099 income just fine. It even guided me through self employment tax details. The only drawback was customer support was not super fast but it was still manageable.

FreeTaxUSA saved me a ton compared to H&R Block. Filing federal for free and paying a small fee for state was a nice change from dropping $100+. I double nchecked my return manually and everything was correct. For simple to moderate returns it’s a great option.

Security was my biggest concern before trying FreeTaxUSA but i looked into their encryption and data protection policies and they seemed strong. After using it i never had issues with my info being compromised. It might not have the big brand reputation but it’s safe in my experience.

I have been filing with FreeTaxUSA for three years in a row. No problems at all and it always walks me through the forms clearly. The only downside is they don’t offer as much live help as the bigger services. But if you are comfortable doing things mostly on your own it’s 100% legit.
