Online filing saved me so much time last year. I was able to import most of my information automatically which meant less data entry. The instant confirmation that the IRS received my return gave me peace of mind too. Definitely faster than mailing forms.

I still prefer paper filing because i feel more in control of the process. With online systems i am always worried about my personal information floating around on the internet. It might be slower but i sleep better knowing i did it the old fashioned way.

Online filing is cheaper faster and honestly kind of foolproof. Unless you r juggling multiple incomes businesses or investments i don’t see a reason to complicate it. I have never had an issue with mine and i finish it in under an hour.

I go with a tax preparer mainly because they give me advice for the future not just this year. They point out things i should save or track for next time. That kind of planning isn’t something software can replace.
