I used TaxAct for the first time this year and it was surprisingly smooth. It doesn’t get as much attention as TurboTax or H&R Block but it handled my return without issues.

I went with TaxSlayer this year after reading reviews and I’m glad i did. It’s budget-friendly and still very detailed. The step-by-step questions were clear and to the point.

H&R Block’s software feels like a nice middle ground. It’s not the cheapest but it gives you enough support to feel confident. Plus i like knowing they have physical locations if i ever need help in person.

Cash App Taxes is my go to simply because it’s free and straightforward. I don’t need fancy features so it suits me perfectly. As long as you don’t have a complex return it’s hard to beat.

TaxSlayer worked great for me last year especially with multiple 1099s. It didn’t overwhelm me with too many questions just what was necessary. I’d call it one of the best for freelancers.

TurboTax is smooth but i think it’s overrated. The constant upselling annoyed me even though the software itself was flawless. If cost wasn’t a factor i would probably still choose it.

TaxSlayer gave me the most straightforward experience so far. It’s affordable and doesn’t try to confuse you with extra features. For someone who just wants to get it done it’s perfect.
