That makes me curious about how reliable it actually is. When dealing with something as important as taxes, accuracy and trust matter more than anything.
From what i have read TaxAct supports both simple returns and more detailed filings that involve investments, side income, or even self employment. The pricing is usually lower than what you see with bigger names which makes it appealing to people who do not want to spend a lot on software every year. However i know many wonder if a lower price means fewer features or less dependable service.
One thing that stands out is the fact that TaxAct offers accuracy checks, audit assistance, and a satisfaction guarantee. Those are features that give it credibility and suggest it takes filing seriously. The design may not be as polished or flashy as some competitors, but functionality is often more important than appearance when the goal is to file correctly and on time.

I used TaxAct last year for the first time and honestly it did the job without any issues. It was not as flashy as TurboTax but it guided me through the forms step by step. My return was accepted quickly and i got my refund in a normal timeframe. For the price i paid, I felt it was totally worth it.

I have been using TaxAct for about three years now and i can say it works fine for straightforward tax returns. It covers both federal and state and i have never had problems with accuracy. TaxAct is legit in my opinion but it really depends on your situation. If you have a simple return it is more than enough. If you are self employed or have a lot of deductions you might notice the guidance is not as detailed. Still i never had any issues with errors or delays when i used it.

TaxAct is what i used when i was still in college, and it was free for my basic return. It gave me a good experience, and i ended up using it again when i started working. Now i pay a little more for the state filing but it is still cheaper than the big names.

I had a positive experience with TaxAct, but i will say the navigation could be improved. Sometimes i had to click back and forth to review things. Other than that it calculated my numbers correctly and filed everything without errors. I would use it again.

I used TaxAct because it was cheaper but i was still a bit nervous. In the end, it worked just fine, and i got the same results as when i had used TurboTax before. I think the main reason people stick to TurboTax is just brand familiarity.
