I had a positive experience with TaxAct, but i will say the navigation could be improved. Sometimes i had to click back and forth to review things. Other than that it calculated my numbers correctly and filed everything without errors. I would use it again.

TaxAct is what i used when i was still in college, and it was free for my basic return. It gave me a good experience, and i ended up using it again when i started working. Now i pay a little more for the state filing but it is still cheaper than the big names.

I did my taxes on TaxAct this year with both federal and state and it was straightforward. I liked that it checked for mistakes before submitting. The whole process took less time than i thought it would. It might not be the most advanced looking software but it works.

I think TaxAct is definitely legit but people just do not talk about it as much. It has been around for decades which says something. If it was not reliable it would not have lasted this long. Sometimes the less hyped options are just as solid.

The first year i tried TaxAct i was hesitant. But after filing, I realized it was not much different from other services. It gave me the forms i needed, did the calculations and filed everything electronically. Nothing went wrong, and i saved some money compared to other platforms.

I was worried about security when using TaxAct but it actually uses the same protections as the bigger companies. I checked before signing up and felt reassured by the encryption and login setup. Filing went smoothly and i had no problems with identity or data.

I have switched back and forth between TurboTax and TaxAct. Honestly the results were pretty much the same both times. The only difference was the cost. TurboTax feels a little more polished but TaxAct is cheaper and still accurate. That is why i now stick with it.

I filed with TaxAct for the first time when i started freelance work and it handled the extra forms without a problem. It showed me where to enter all my 1099 income and i felt confident that it was correct. The interface is simple but it is effective. No issues with my refund either.

My brother actually recommended TaxAct to me because he had used it for years. I tried it this past season and was pleasantly surprised. The process was clear and i did not feel overwhelmed. It was a smooth experience overall and the lower price made it even better.

TaxAct is legit in my opinion but it really depends on your situation. If you have a simple return it is more than enough. If you are self employed or have a lot of deductions you might notice the guidance is not as detailed. Still i never had any issues with errors or delays when i used it.
