I tried HR Block once and it felt like i was constantly being prompted to upgrade. It got annoying because i just wanted to file a simple return. If that is part of what the lawsuit is targeting, then i completely understand why people are frustrated.

The refund calculator on TaxSlayer was pretty accurate for me. The number i got matched what i expected when the IRS processed it. That made me feel confident in the accuracy of their system. It was a stress free experience overall.

TurboTax has better integration if you use QuickBooks or other Intuit products. That is the only reason i stick with it. For anyone who just files personal taxes, FreeTaxUSA does the same job for a fraction of the cost.

For me the speed mattered. TaxAct let me finish quicker, while TurboTax felt like it dragged things out. If you just want to get taxes done fast, TaxAct is fine.
