TurboTax’s step-by-step system is great if you like having everything explained in detail but it can feel like a lot of extra screens to get through. TaxAct on the other hand, is faster and works better if you already have a good idea of what you are doing.

I have tried a few tax platforms over the years and Cash App Taxes was actually one of the smoothest experiences. It did not ask me to upgrade or buy extras which was refreshing. I liked how it showed a summary before submitting so i could double check. Everything got filed correctly and i paid zero dollars.

I expected the appointment to take forever but i was done in about an hour. Everything was organized and the person i worked with knew what they were doing. They answered my questions without making me feel rushed. It was way less stressful than i thought it would be. Honestly it was smoother than some other tax services i have tried.

I used Taxslayer for my small business taxes and it was straightforward. The guidance was clear and i did not run into any big issues. It’s definitely legit if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the bigger names.

I think TaxAct is definitely legit but people just do not talk about it as much. It has been around for decades which says something. If it was not reliable it would not have lasted this long. Sometimes the less hyped options are just as solid.

Last year i actually used both. I started with TurboTax but stopped halfway because of the price once i hit the self employment section. I switched to TaxSlayer and filed successfully. The main difference was TurboTax felt easier but TaxSlayer saved me about a hundred bucks.

I actually like the simple design of Credit Karma Tax. It does not try to overcomplicate things or sell me extra products. Everything i needed was clearly laid out.
