I like TaxAct for the simple reason that it is straightforward. It does not try to upsell as much as some of the other software. I got through my filing without being asked to upgrade multiple times, which was refreshing.

TaxAct has been around since the 1990s, so it is definitely not some new or untested platform. I think people just do not mention it as often because it does not advertise as heavily. I trust it because of how long it has been in business.

I compared the numbers between TaxAct and TurboTax just to test. Both gave me the same refund amount. That was enough proof for me that TaxAct was just as accurate. Since it was cheaper, i decided to stick with it.

I used TaxAct two years in a row now and both times my return was filed without issue. The refund arrived in the same time frame i expected. I like that it saves my info for next year so it was quicker the second time.
