I used TurboTax for years, but i decided to try TaxAct because i was tired of the high cost. To my surprise i did not miss much. It may not be as polished, but it got the job done correctly, and i ended up saving money.

For me Cash App Taxes was a lifesaver. I had a pretty basic return and did not want to spend $70+ with TurboTax again. It covered all the basics and got me filed quickly. The fact that it is completely free makes it legit in my book. I think for simple tax situations it is more than enough.

They do have refund advance options but you really have to read the fine print. I thought about it once but the fees did not make sense for me.
